Three B&T Teams Play In The Dorothy Bruno Hills Indoor Tennis League
The Dorothy Bruno Hills Indoor Tennis League (DBHITL) is an organization of 36 clubs and 126 teams that compete in women’s doubles competition indoors during the fall and winter from mid-October through mid-March with the exception of holiday weeks. Mrs. Hazel Wightman and Mrs. Preston founded the League in 1951.
For the current season, the B&T has four women’s teams: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 Division 4. Divisions 1 and 2 play Wednesdays, alternating home/away matches. Division 3/4 plays on Thursdays also alternating home/away. Each team plays a total of 18 matches during the year. In addition to playing weekly matches, each team holds a two hour practice with Greg Whitmire and his assistant(s). The 1 team practices on Mondays from 10 AM-12 PM; the 1/2 team practices on Tuesdays from 10 AM-12 PM; the 3 /4 team practices on Tuesdays from 8-10 AM.
